The Anthracite Coal Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania Digital Project encourages all kinds of people to think about the culture and heritage of the region as an important national and international nexus of cultural and industrial relations by presenting short historical and timely discussions of media and other communication. Please like us on Facebook and stay tuned as we engage other media platforms. Having grown up in Anthracite Coal Region, I have focused my academic research on the real world histories and experiences of people who call the Coal Region their home, of those who grew up there, but moved away, and of those who are newer residents of the region, and of those who have roots in the region. I developed a Facebook page which has nearly 8000 followers. Since then I gained a collaborator. This website is an extension of the Facebook page meant to be a more permanent archive of research and conversations in the community as we develop a long-term archival project that fully serves the community. It will also serve as a meeting place for residents, former residents, researchers, and educators and others interested in the Coal Region.
